please no more pain

I am getting seriously depressed now. I started having mild back pain and severe pain near my lower ribcage on the left side on Monday. I have not slept well and as I write this the time here is just after 4 am and I can not sleep due to pain. I saw a GP today and she thinks it is just rib cage arthitis but let me tell you this hurts like a mother ****er and there is nothing "just" about that. I have been taking anti inflammatory and codeine tablets but it doesn't work. I am quit sure I am having another gallstone episode, why oh why didn´t they remove them all. I really need to be OK, I am so far behind on school and I seriously need to pass 18 credits this semester or I´ll get not student loans and that would screw up all our finances. Not to mention that if I get anymore behind I am facing a fail in all my courses.
Sorry about the rant guys but I am at my wits end no. Oh yeah forgot to mention I took my son to the GP as well and she thinks the lump is just a swollen gland since there is only one of them so that is good.

  2. I don't know how the education system works for you, but is it possible to take an 'Incomplete' for your classes that you're doing poorly in for medical reasons?

    1. not sure what that means, but if I dont take and pass the exams in 3 courses then I have to do them again next year, but one course has a re-exam in may. But I am trying to be hopeful that this will be OK

  3. I think she means maybe you can simply withdraw from the class rather than fail it since you're having medical issues.
Sorry to hear about your pain, it definitely sounds like gall stones. I remember the feeling and it was like a knife to my lower right shoulder blade, underneath. Maybe you should see another doc and demand an ultrasound and talk about getting your gall bladder removed... good luck to you!

    1. hi, thanks for explaining. If I do withdraw we land in a financial mess due to student loan complexity here. And I have had my gallbladder removed, just last month actually, but they left a few stones in the side bile duct that led to the gallbladder and I think those are messing with me now.

  5. Ugh, that stinks!
Sorry you're in pain. I suffered through gallbladder pain for several months before we figured out what was going on. That's no fun.
Hope you're on the mend soon!

  6. I'm finally back to normal after having my gallbladder removed 11/3. It took a whole month. I had pain and spasms after the surgery, even had a follow up ultrasound because the pain was so bad, but everything checked out ok. Feel better!
