Day of surgery: 127 kg or 280 pounds
Today: 113.3 kg or 249.8 pounds
Loss this week: -0.6 kg or -1.3 pounds
Total loss: 13.7 kg or 30.2 pounds

This week was not as bad as the one before, but it was not a great week either. I did have candy on Monday I admit in defeat but I have not had any since. And it was not that much either, I did figure out that jelly candies are not what I can eat now, well not without a hell of a lot of chewing. I am pleased with the loss this week and I really want to get my ass on that bike again, think I said that last week too but I am still kind of scared of more stomach pains. Well Im not remembering anything of importance now so I´m gonna let this be it for today.

stupid weather plus junky

So lets start with the worse stuff as both my complaints tonight are bad in my books.

Stupid storm is crossing the country and that means lots of wind and I can't sleep in too much wind and from what I am hearing outside now it is going to be a long night for me. I just wish it was summer, like tomorrow would be good for me. I am not made for this weather and I hate the cold and sub zero snow, well I don't like snow in general but once the weather is like -10 °C (that's 14 degrees F for you non metric people ) the snow starts to make this awful crunching sound and I hate it. So even if the summers here are not that warm average heat july/august is maybe between 10-20 °C ( 50-68 F) I can not wait till it comes.

OK on to the other bad stuff, today's diet. I feel like I ate 10.000 kcal today but it was not that bad but bad it was, I in total today eaten 2 slices of homemade pizza round 11" and 2 homemade pancakes (not the American kind, Icelandic pancakes are more like Crepes very thin and tiny the size of a dessert plate about 6"), ooh and yeah like 6 teaspoons full of chocolate ice-cream. I have sinned today for sure. I am blaming TOM but really it is my fault for not making the right choices. But I will do better tomorrow I swear.

weigh in week 12 + post #100

Total loss: 13.1 kg or 28.9 pounds

tiny loss this week but I´ll take it cause I know this week was not the best.I for instance was working extra last night and had slept in so I only ate 3 tiny meals, one was a hot dog without bread but with mashed potatoes yup one freaky meal I´m used to since I was a kid. Only my lunch meal was any good with lots of protein. But live and learn so I am going to try and have the next week better.

I want to start exercising again but I have to admit that I am a little timid since last time. It caused me such discomfort but I am going to try it again and just not do anything for the abdominal area for a while. I also want to get going to the gym cause I love me some weights but I am still not ready to face it yet but I hope I will be soon. Cause I know that will kick things into gear as well.

Wow have posted 100 posts so far which I think is a lot. But I can not wait till it gets even higher.

Well I better get going to school before the morning traffic becomes a nightmare. Cant wait for the weekend so I can sleep in haha

pms + photos

I felt inspired by a few bloggers that have posted their before/after pictures, although I am still too wussy to have my face in them for now I promise I will show it someday.

But lets start with PMS. Ugh I hate it, I woke up in a crappy mood not really understanding why until I saw my pill and ahh well CRAP! I want everything I should not eat and because I am not allowing myself to have it I am in a even crappier mood today. But I know I would most likely be worse if I indulged and gained weight. So I think I am a freaking hero for going to the bakery with my son and not buying anything for me. The kid got a ham, bacon something with Bearnaise sauce on the side and I wanted to rip it off him and eat it myself but I didn't.

OK now on to the photos. The first one is taken shortly before my operation which was on November 1st. the second photo was taken today and yup I do see I got a stain on my shirt but it is ruined and only used for the bike these days but since I had it on on the first picture I figured it would be OK. So just ignore that huge stain that announces my sloppy ways hahaha 

I really dont see such a difference in the "from front" picture but I do see the difference from the side. I have to say I like this difference in just under 90 days. well I´m off to try and not rip anyone's head off today and hope that tomorrow will have less PMS and no stupid unhealthy obsessive cravings.

weigh in week 11

Day of surgery: 127 kg or 280 pounds
Today: 114.0 kg or 251.3 pounds
Loss this week: -1.6 kg or 3.5 pounds WOW I'm loving this!
Total loss: 13.0 kg or 28.7 pounds

This means I am almost half way to 99.9 kg which will bring me under the awful 3 digit weights, there are still 14.1 kg till then but OMG I cant wait.

I have not been on my bike yet, I think I will give it a try on Saturday when I neither have to go to school or work in case this shit will get worse. It is getting a whole lot better. I changed bras thinking that might be causing some discomfort and it did seem to help. I also gave my tight jeans a tiny break thinking maybe it was a whole lot of small things that made me so sore so to speak. Still no word from surgeon but I´ll live. I am really not feeling any discomfort now unless I try and lie on my stomach when reading but hey thats just my port so... who knows this might just be over and I for one am thrilled if this just goes away.

getting better

So no word from my doctor. But I have an idea what might have happened. I have been using my bike regularly for a week now, and I use this program that is heavy for a minute and easy for two for a total of 38 minutes. And for every one of those heavy minutes I try and keep my abdominal muscles rock hard, like almost can not breath kind of hard. I think that might have been too much for my intestines or something, cause I have not used the bike since Friday and I was so much better the past two nights, being able to sleep on my left side no problem,so I am planning on still using my bike and just not doing anything involving abdominal muscles and avoid jeans for a few days and see if it wont just disappear.

On other notes I have a total tiny NSV to share, OK so in school we take lectures at an movie theater and it has these fold up table thingies, and guess what!!!! I could use mine today without my thighs pushing it upwards and out of position or my belly doing the same, I could have it at its supposed position, and also noticed that the seats are not at all touching me on the sides woop freaking woop!

stomach problems

Since my fill on Dec 18th. I have been having some discomfort mostly near my port area. But the last few days I have begun to feel discomfort near my ribcage on the left side. So of course the first scary idea popped into my head that it was a erosion thing. But I am trying not thinking that any more, but I am still not liking this. I have no problems with eating or any pain/discomfort when it comes to that. It is more when I am relaxing I start feeling it, I for instance can not really lie down on my left side cause it feels uncomfortable. I am so going to send a line to my doctor after finishing this blog.

toodles, gotta go to work in a lil while and try not to go insane with what could be the problem. I am shit scared that it could be erosion cause that is my greatest fear. But from what I've read it does not happen so shortly after surgery.

weigh in week 10 + stuff

Day of surgery: 127 kg or 280 pounds
Today: 115.6 kg or 254.85 pounds
Loss this week: not sure since I forgot to weigh in last Thursday but around 1.4 kg or 3.09 pounds
Total loss: 11.4 kg or 25.13 pounds

So I have lost all of my holiday weight and am now below the weight I was before Christmas I think that is AWESOME!

It is 7:20 am and I am not in any mood to blog more at the moment, definitely got out of bed on the wrong side this morning.

Ok so not it is 12:25 pm and I just finished another 38 minutes on my bike, I so did not want to do it but I did YAY ME.  That was a total of a whopping 738 kcal burnt and 18.3 km just the usual distance but wow whats up with the kcal today, not that I am complaining. I went to the movies with the bf and offspring to see The Hobbit. I sent the bf to get something for the kid to eat cause he was hungry and when he came back he had a huge batch of Tostitos nachos and required sauce, well apparently he mistook what I said as get US thats in me and the kid something to eat. And even though I was not hungry I have to admit I ate a few, just cant remember if it was 6 or 7 pieces.

Well better go eat my skyr which is full of protein yumm this one has strawberries and blueberries in it.

rocking it, kind of

Done my time on the bike today and just as I write this the clock turning 12 am. So productive right? Well I was forced to get up at 7 am like I try to anyways, and go to school at 8 am. I did 38 point something minutes which translated to 18.01 km (11.19 miles), 657 kcal. Seems to be consistent, if  I do 20 minutes without a program I cycle 8 km but around 17-19km if I go 38 minutes with a program.

Can honestly say I am looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow. I forgot to officially weigh myself last week but I did weigh myself the day before and I had gained a total of 1.2 kg (2,65 pounds) I think it was since Christmas day so I am hoping to have gotten rid of all of all of those and hoping I´ll be below 115.8 kg (255.29 pounds) which was my pre-Christmas all time low.

Now I´m going to stuff that chicken breast in what little space I have and enjoy it immensely

last day of christmas

So yesterday was officially the last day of Christmas here in Iceland. And for the first time I think ever, we did not have a fancy dinner and all that, rather we just had yummy lamb chops because I am lucky enough to have parents "in laws" that live on a farm and they supply us with loads of lamb meat which is my favorite. Part of last day of Christmas usually entails that you take down your decorations and this day is the 13th day after the 24th of December, and it is the day the last of the 13 Santas goes back home to the mountains. I have not taken down my decorations, perhaps part of that is due to me being lazy, but mostly I don't mind having it up. I keep the lights in the windows sometimes till February but usually I just take them down when I see others are doing so, and honestly its dark here almost 24/7 so most people leave the lights up for a while.

We did a 180 on the abroad trip. We are skipping NYC and going to London instead, mainly because both of us are in school and finding a time to go was not working out so well, and we also thought well 6 hours in a plane is a bit long for such a short trip. So I´d rather fly to London in 2-3 hours. Going for 3 nights, arriving early and leaving late so that is good. Going to see if we cant start on buying presents for next Christmas and maybe a b-day present for you kid who will be 12 in March gosh I´m feeling old hahaha.

Well I´m off to that bike, gotta use it while I can. Work today and school and stuff.

update: 39 minutes/18.2 km(11.3 miles) on my bike, the bike kcal said 202 kcal, MFP said 525 kcal and my HRM said 659 kcal. What would you pay more attention to, MFP or my HRM? its a wrist kind not the one with the strap on my chest.

oh my bike how I've missed thee

OK so one of my goals was to use my bike at least 5 times a week, 20 min at a time at minimum. I went on it on Thursday for 20 minutes/8 km but I bailed yesterday due to lack of sleep and I was napping until I went to work. But instead I did 38.38minutes/17 km on it today, I hate the kcal counter on it, cause it said I burnt just 222 kcal but that is not likely, MFP says its more like 525 kcal and next time I am using my heart rate monitor to get it right.

Anywhoots thats my update for today. Going to go do stuff haha guess a shower should come first. Thought this picture was a bit appropriate after the holidays.

trip to New York, need help

Hi all, OK so bf and I are planning a long weekend to New York in the middle of May. Going to save going back to Orlando until 2015. Yup I am a super planner. Anywhoots, have any of you gone? How much am I able to see in lets say two days, one day we are planning on renting a car to go over to New Jersey and shop our arses of in the usual outlet stuff.

Also would you stay in Long Island / Queens and use the tube to get to Manhattan, it seems that this is way less expensive. ARG need some help I am getting a little lost haha I am not really that much of a snob but I dont want any bed bugs or hotels that get less than stellar reviews.

So anything you can help me with would be so appreciated

my eyes look like square boxes after all this hotel searching, but I think I´ve found the one. The Verve hotel in Queens, its cheaper than staying in Manhattan, now I just need to book the flights+room and voila!  so now the question is how much can I lose until May 15th?

Happy new year

I am coming to 9 weeks post op. I want to set some goals for 2013. I hope they are realistic ones. I will put them in a weird list lol

  • get below 100 kg (220,5 pounds) before June 1st. That's round 3 kg (6,6 pounds) per month. Not sure this is to big of a goal but I´ll try my hardest thats all we can do.
  • getting a grip on protein first and having a variety of dinners not just plain chicken over and over again.
  • being able to drink my 2 liters of water each day, this is very hard, even though I love water.
  • getting on my bike at least 5 times a week, minimum of 20 minutes a session
  • going for a hike with my son this summer, he loves hiking and I have not been able to so far but I really want to join in on his interests. 
Thats all for now, going to eat my breakfast even though it is noon here now, we had bad weather which means I had a hard time sleeping and have a headache. So here it goes no more holiday anything.
