Can not wait for next Thursday to arrive cause that means normal food. I have to admit I am a bit scared to start eating normal food again but I think I can do it.
I was shit scared last night that I would get stuck, I was eating potato gratin with cheese and for some odd reason the small part of cheese I had was not disintegrating enough and it slid down my throat I was so scared I´d get stuck.
I just have to ask about soda or pop if thats what you call it. Am I allowed to have any. Again I got no instructions from my doctor. And I am not talking about drinking tons of it, I am more thinking on the lines of a few sips, because one of my favorite parts of Christmas is drinking the Christmas ale its non alcoholic its just orange soda mixed with a malt ale. And I don't know why but I am feeling really sad about maybe not being able to even have a sip of it. Its kind of like saying no turkey for you on Thanksgiving. Which reminds me HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI was told no carbonated beverages and no straws.
Yup - same here. I do drink diet soda every once and a while, but never from a can, bottle or straw (too much carbonation and I'll burp for hours). I'll do fountain soda, or just let soda go flat, but I mostly just avoid it. But yes, I do drink soda. It's all about moderation, baby.
ReplyDeletepersonally I do not drink soda. I quit before my surgery and just never went back..I take that back..I did have a sip of my sons once and it hurt. I got a pain in my left shoulder and chest immediately.
ReplyDeleteOK. You're going to find a huge range of answers on this one. Most docs so no because of the empty calories. As for the "no straw" thing someone mentioned, my doc is fine with straws and thought that was an odd one to forbid. Now, my personal take is no on carbonation. It causes me debilitating shoulder pain now so I can't drink it. It took me MONTHS to figure that out. :)
ReplyDeleteoh so conflicted, this beverage is such a big part of Christmas. But I think IF I try I´ll try it way before Christmas as I dont want to be in pain if that happens to me, or I might even skip it and just be bummed about it for a while.
